INTRODUCTION

Palestine has a special place in history since the three major monotheistic religions find it to be spiritually significant.  Palestine ought to be a land of peace as a result, yet historically, strife and conquest has seen the suffering of The Palestinians for far too long. In 1948  THE NAKBA happened when Israel demolished 500 Palestinian village and pushed 800,000 people out of Palestine to Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, and many European countries  These people have been REFUGEES for over 76 years and demand their "right to return" to their homeland.

Israel, over the past 76 years has brutally occupied "occupied Palestine" with constant bombing, creating an APARTHEID state with walls and check  points that have been cruel, vile, and basically torturous.

With the October 7th incident perpetrated by HAMAS it is the result of the injustice of the illegal occupation of GAZA and The West Bank.

Despite having traveled extensively throughout my life, I had never visited the Middle East until 2003.  I had the honor of working at private schools in Bahrain and KUWAIT from 2003 to 2007.

I had the great fortune of teaching a fantastic group of third grade Palestinian students.  I got to know their families rather well.

A vintage House key was hung around the neck of one of the mothers. When I inquired about the key, she informed me that it belonged to her grandmother, who had been residing in Palestine until being compelled to leave her house in 1948 because of the NAKBA. For the past 20 years I've researched the history of this tragic, cruel occupation by Israel, as

 I already stated,

the events of October 7, 2023 were a product of the culmination of decades of aggression and outrageous injustice.

As of this date August 9, 2024  there have been 300 days of genocidal attacks by ISRAEL, with a death toll over 50,000 of which half are children!

Palestinian History: Indigenous Struggle Against Colonization

For over a century, Palestinians have resisted one of the world's most enduring colonial projects. Their story is one of indigenous peoples defending their homeland, their culture, and their right to exist on lands their families inhabited for generations.

The Roots of Colonization

In the late 19th century, Palestine was a thriving Ottoman province with an overwhelmingly dominant Palestinian Arab population. Yet in the imagination of early Zionist leaders, the land was recast as a wasteland in need of "redemption." Beginning in the 1880s, Zionist colonists arrived and began systematically dispossessing Palestinian Muslims and Christians—particularly small tenant farmers known as fellahin—who were forced off lands their families had worked for centuries. This was not accidental; it was deliberate colonial strategy, justified by an ideology that denied the existence and rights of the indigenous population already living there.

Like other colonial projects throughout history—in Algeria, Australia, the Americas, and beyond—Zionist colonization relied on a fundamental lie: that the land was empty, that Palestinians did not truly belong, and that Jewish settlement was a rightful claim to an ancestral homeland. This "imaginative geography," as scholar Edward Said called it, allowed colonizers to justify the unjustifiable: the seizure of other people's land.

Dispossession and the Nakba

The scale of Palestinian displacement accelerated dramatically in 1948 with what Palestinians call the Nakba—the Catastrophe. Zionist forces violently expelled approximately 750,000 to one million Palestinians, or roughly three-quarters of the entire Palestinian population, from their homes. Villages were destroyed. Families were torn from lands they had inhabited for generations. The church in the village of Iqrit still stands alone today, surrounded by rubble, a haunting reminder of the 600 Christians expelled by Israeli forces nearly seven decades ago.

This dispossession was not a one-time event but a protracted, ongoing process. Land laws, military occupation, and settlement expansion have continued to strip Palestinians of their territory. Even today, Israel uses colonial-era Ottoman concepts—declaring Palestinian land "dead land" not actively cultivated—to justify further seizures. The logic of colonization persists: Palestinians must be removed so that settlers can claim the land as their own.

Resistance and Sovereignty

From the earliest days of Zionist settlement, Palestinians resisted. Indigenous peasants fought back against land confiscation, organized diplomatic resistance, and refused to accept dispossession. That resistance has taken many forms—peaceful protest, written word, armed struggle, and the simple act of remaining on the land and declaring: we are still here.

Today, Palestinian resistance is recognized globally as part of a broader indigenous liberation movement. Palestinian struggles against colonialism, land theft, and occupation resonate deeply with indigenous peoples worldwide—from Native Americans to Native Hawaiians to indigenous communities across Latin America. These movements understand each other because they share the same fundamental fight: the right to self-determination, the return of stolen lands, and the survival of their peo

STATISTICS ON BRUTALITY OF OCCUPATION

AS OF JULY 2024  THESE ARE THE

UNBEARABLE FACTS ABOUT THE CARNAGE OF THIS GENOCIDE
https://www.ochaopt.org/content/reported-impact-snapshot-gaza-strip-19-june-2024

FOLLOWING IS A DATED OVERVIEW OF THE FACTS ON GAZA PRIOR TO OCTOBER 7, 2023:

The population of Gaza is 1.6 million,

 with over 50% under 18.

38% of Gazans live in poverty.

26% of the Gazan workforce, including 38% of youths, is unemployed.

The average wage declined by over 20% in the past six years.

54% of Gazans are food insecure and over 75% are aid recipients.

35% of Gaza’s farmland and 85% of its fishing waters are totally or partially inaccessible due to Israeli  military measures

. 50-80 million litres of partially treated sewage are dumped in the sea each day.

Over 90% of the water from the Gaza aquifer is undrinkable.

85% of schools in Gaza run on double shifts.

About one-third of the items in the essential drug list are out of stock.

Since the beginning of 2010, 64 Palestinian civilians have been killed and 621 injured by Israeli forces;  over 60% of casualties occurred in the access-restricted areas. Another 60 civilians were killed and  137 were injured in tunnel-related accidents

1. The Gaza blockade (through the land, air  and sea) is a denial of basic human rights  in contravention of international law  and amounts to collective punishment.  It severely restricts imports and exports, as  well as the movement of people in and out of  Gaza, and access to agricultural land and fishing  waters.

Gazans are unable to provide for their  families and the quality of infrastructure and vital  services has deteriorated.

2. Despite measures taken to ease the  blockade in June 2010 the humanitarian  situation has remained extremely fragile. While imports have increased, they are still at  less than 40% of the pre-2007 levels.

Exports  remain tightly restricted and are limited to  agricultural produce to Europe, and Gazan  businesses cannot access their traditional  markets in Israel and the West Bank.

Access to  land and sea remains highly restricted.

3. Only a minority of the projects aimed  at improving housing and vital services  in Gaza, submitted for approval by the  international community, have been  approved by the Israeli authorities
